Dancing and Counting to 100 with Go Noodle

Students wrote to the prompt "If I had one hundred dollars...."
Most of them wanted to go shopping, to the movies or out to eat.

My firsties insisted on having me in a picture with them, so here we are being silly together.  :0)

Thank you for stopping by!

Valentine's Day 2016

Students made Valentine Man Card Collectors.

I have been making these with my firsties for many years and they are always so cute!

After our Everyday Math lesson, we solved riddles to create a heart on the 100 Grid.

Then it was time for our Sundae Bar!  Thank you to all the families who donated items to make it a success!

Go Noodle!

Our class loves Go Noodle!  It gets them out of their seats for much needed movements, provides brain breaks after long periods of work time and also helps them to learn to focus and calm themselves through yoga.  You can use Go Noodle at home by visiting

Reading Roots

In our Reading Roots class, students read a story called The Artists of Benin City.  In the story, artists at the Queen's Art School in Africa created a bronze metal hippo.  Our STAR story, Crafting Fun for a Rainy Day, provided directions for making clay animals.  For our Adventures in Writing lesson, students chose to write how to make a clay hippo.  After students wrote their directions, they were able to use them to create their own play-dough hippo.

The students worked hard on their projects!
