JPD visits West Side's First Grade

 
Officers from the Johnstown Police Department visited West Side Elementary on Friday, as part of our Community Unit in Social Studies. 
 
 
Rocky, of JPD K-9, paid us a visit.

First Grade's Visit with the Women's Help Center

 
The first grade gathered in the LGI Friday afternoon, for a presentation by Miss Sam with the Women's Help Center.  The topic was Bullying.

JAHA Visits Room 23

 
As part of our Social Studies unit on Communities, Miss Taylor invited Miss Melody and Miss Kaytlin from the Johnstown Area Heritage Association shared a presentation about the impact felt on our community when a business opened and the impact on our community when a business closed.

Math Work Stations

10th Day of School


On Tuesday, September 9th, Zero the Hero visited our classroom and brought us this craft.  


We also practiced counting by 10, writing our numbers to 10 and other activities.

The Kissing Hand


We read The Kissing Hand by Aubrey Penn on the first day of school.


Then we wrote how we were feeling, traced our hands and made our own Chester the Racoon.
