To help the students remember the Algebraic Properties, they made these foldables. We folded an 8 1/2 by 11 inch piece of cardstock like a hotdog bun. Then cut one side into thirds, labeling each as the commutative, associative and identity properties. On the inside left of the foldable, the students wrote the addition rules for each property and the multiplication rules for each property on the right side. They wrote each rule in a different color. We'll be keeping all of the foldables we create in one folder for future reference.
While reading Feeding the World by Peter Winkler, my reading class students suggested that we collect canned goods to donate to a local food pantry. Above is a photo of some of our students with the donated canned goods. The canned goods will be donated to St. Vincent DePaul's food bank upon completion of our drive.
A big thank you goes out to the families who donated to our drive!
