Valentine's Day and the 100th Day All in One!

 We celebrated Valentine's Day by exchanging Valentines and having an Ice Cream Sundae Party.  Thank you to all of the families who donated items for our party and thank you to Galliker's Dairy for their donation of ice cream for our entire grade level.

 Due to the Snow Days we've had, the 100th day was on the same day as our Valentine's Day Celebration.  We did a variety of 100th day Math Activities.  

We solved some difficult Math problems to find 100 on the 100 Grid.  The students really enjoyed finding the mystery picture.

Happy 70th Day!

As part of our 70th Day Math Activities, we made Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer 

out of the number 70.  The students really enjoyed it and did a great job!

Thanksgiving

 In Math, we practiced adding basic facts by playing Pilgrim themed Roll and Cover.

It was the 40th day!  We made 40 pumpkins!

Pumpkins!

 In our Science unit, we have been studying Plants.  I couldn't think of a better plant during the fall to explore than the pumpkin plant.  Thank you to all of the families who sent in pumpkins for our class to explore.  As you can tell from the smiling faces, a fun learning experience was had by all.

Fire Company Visit

 The Southmont Fire Company visited West Side today in honor of Fire Safety Month.  Chief Weslager taught us about fire safety and fire equipment during his visit.
