Creative Teaching Press Win

At the beginning of the school year, I was blessed to win 75 dollars to spend on materials for my classroom from Creative Teaching Press.   I am so thankful for the prize!  My classroom theme is Dots on Black, so I ordered a variety of items to help brighten up our classroom.  These photos are from my phone, so they aren't the best.
The Dots on Black Border around my Bulletin Board

Our Math Lesson State Standards and Anchors are displayed on Poppin' Patterns Charts

Dots on Black letters are used to title the Math Word Wall Area, along with coordinating border

Poppin' Patterns 6" Dot Cutouts display our Cooperative Learning Standards for all to see and refer to during class time

Poppin' Patterns Jumbo Dots are hung from the ceiling to display numbers for our cooperative learning teams.  I also have Poppin' Patterns Stars hanging as well.

Classroom 2012

Welcome to our classroom!  This is a view from my desk area.  The desks are set up in teams to facilitate the use of cooperative learning in our Reading Edge and Everyday Math Classes.

Each team is assigned a number.  I used CTP's Dots on Black as our theme.  These are the large dots with Dots on Black numbers attached.

This is the view from the opposite corner.  I used the fabric pictured below to create another curtain the bookshelf in the back.  I like to soften as many corners as possible in the classroom to give it a homey feel.

This is our general announcement board.  I will use the CTP  Poppin Patterns Mini Charts to anchor the menu and other important announcements.

This view shows the Math Word Wall and part of our number line.  That's the bookcase the runner I made will top and cover.

Thanks for stopping by!

Classroom Theme....DOTS!

As most people know, I love to have a warm, welcoming, bright classroom for my students. For sixth grade, I'm going with at Primary Dots theme. I am going to use letters, borders and accessories using this pattern from Creative Teaching Press called Dots on Black.

These sheers also come in black, so I'm thinking about buying 2 pairs to use on my shelving units to "disguise" what is behind them. I love that they are light and have dots on them. It should help the units disappear into the background while adding some texture to the space.

School starts in less than a month for teachers!
